Elixir Hawaii is a grassroots community of developers interested in the Elixir programming language. They seek to provide a diverse, accessible and welcoming environment which focuses on collaborative learning via talks, workshops, and events.

The programming community is small in general, but close-knit. These events give us a way to meet each other, stay in touch, and share our experiences.

Elixir Hawaii recognizes that close-knit communities can seem cliquish, and more established members can appear snobbish or arrogant protectors of their domains. They hope to actively fight against these perceptions and create a friendly space for collaboration.
